Months 7 and 8 FLEW by! I am going to blink and this little love bug is going to be a year old. Why does it have to go by so fast?!
Lincoln is such a joy. He is the happiest child I've ever been around. Seriously. If he so much as lets out a whiney sigh, we know something is not right. He will sit for hours on his little playmat content to just watch his older siblings and coo and giggle at his toys.
7 months:
I realize I've kind of dropped the ball with getting updates out on time with him. But you know what? We have three kids now, life is a little crazy at times and when I have a moment of quiet, I'm holding him and enjoying what little one on one time we get together......so the blog can wait!
At 7 months, Linc:
- Wore size 6-9 month clothes.
- Was at the second snap one his one size cloth diapers.
- Wore a size 4 disposable diaper.
- Still wore newborn shoes (rarely)
- Weighed 21lbs
- Sat up independently for extended periods of time.
- Enjoyed his jumparoo
- Could focus on a person completely when they spoke to him
- Recognized and attempted to get to you when you called his name
- Smiled at EVERYTHING!
- Rolled from belly to back and back to belly more comfortably.
- Figured out that sleeping on his belly was the way to go and started taking two three hour naps a day (hallelujah!)
- Sleep trained. With the fall coming up and gearing up for first grade with one and PK3 with another, I knew we needed some set times during the day where we could buckle down. So, we did it. Two days of crying for 10 minutes, and some diffused lavender and he's putting himself to sleep, now.
At 8 Months:
- Wears 6-9 month clothing.
- Wears the second snap on his cloth diapers.
- Wears size 4 disposable diapers.
- Wears newborn shoes.
- Is 22.5lbs, but he hit a growth spurt and is longer now, so while he's still our little chubs he's starting to look a *little* less roly poly.
- Sits completely independently.
- Can go from sitting to laying down.
- Can go from sitting into being up on all fours-- crawling isn't too far!
- Rocks back and forth when in a crawling position.
- Rolls to get wherever he wants to go.
- Smiles all the time!
- Says "babababa." We've tried to get him to use another consonant/vowel blend but the only other one I've heard is "dada" and it was in his sleep a couple of times.
- Eats like a champ! He still nurses 4-6 times a day, but also is eating off of our plates and enjoys the homemade baby food we crank out. His favorites:
Cantaloupe/yogurt/banana
Avocado
Roasted apple/banana
Spinach/prunes/apples
Sweet potatoes
- Takes two, two hour naps a day.
- Sleeps 10-12 hours a night.
- Loves his brother and sister like crazy!
- Has formed an attachment to his daddy.
- Started reaching for people to hold him.
Lincoln is just the perfect little addition to our family. We are so overjoyed that the Lord has blessed us with his sweet self and can't wait to continue to get to know him as his little personality begins to develop!
