I wanted to do something special for the royal wedding, yesterday. It's a big day in history and I wanted it to be something that Logan and I could talk about together, one day. So, Thursday evening she and I made some crumpets and scones!

She LOVED helping out! In fact, all I really did was cook and bake them because she dumped and mixed all of the ingredients herself.

I knew I'd be waking up between 5:30-6 to feed Brody, anyway, so I went ahead and got up and woke Logan up to watch with me.

We had so much fun. We ate our crumpets and scones and talked about princesses and princes and she just giggled and giggled. She did get an early nap and slept very well last night, though!

After the wedding, we got dressed and piled in the car so we could go pick some strawberries!

We attempted this last year, but some bad weather had wiped the crop out. But this year we had some nice looking strawberries to choose from.

All she could talk about were the "dawbies" that we'd get to eat for lunch.

We went with Noah and a few other kids. Logan loves to play with Noah, we'll be sad to say goodbye to him and his family in a couple of weeks!

When they got bored with the strawberries they ran off to find what kind of trouble they could get into:

So much fun and now I've got gobs of strawberries that I need to find something to do with. Jam, anyone? :)

Please Pray

I know a lot of you who read this are family and so you already know what's going on, but for those that aren't or who don't know, a massive tornado touched down in Tuscaloosa, Al yesterday. It was about a 1/4 mile from her dorm and caused massive destruction. We know she's ok, she was able to tweet soon after and let us know that she was alive and then she texted me around midnight and once again reassured me that she was ok. Please pray for the people of Tuscaloosa (and all others affected by this "death storm"). This has totally devastated the city.

2 Pictures

I have about a gazillion pictures from our Ohio trip to post but I need a solid naptime to get to do that. I promise they're coming! Here are a couple of pictures from the past few days, though. Monday evening, we took a walk...this might not be interesting or out of the norm, except that instead of having Brody in his carrier, he got to sit right next to L! She was so excited and held his hand and chatted with him the whole way--pointing out the park, trees, bushes, mail boxes and helping him get to know the lay of the land here. It was way cute and he seemed to enjoy being next to her, too.

In other news: Brody has been sleeping HORRIBLY since we got home. He was so used to being held all the time that he just didn't know what to do with himself when you put him down. This made for some long days and nights! (I talk like it was years. It was really only three days of this madness) I did notice that he really liked being swaddled but our swaddler was too hot for him and the receiving blankets I had been using were too small and he was working his way out of them and thus waking up. I quickly remedied this by grabbing some Aden + Anais blankets from Target. They are HUGE and are made of muslin so they are light, soft, and perfect for swaddling. Last night I swaddled him and put him down so I could shower, fully expecting to have to rock him a bit afterwards, but when I came out he was dead asleep and stayed this way for SEVEN hours! Bliss! He's also been putting himself to sleep for his naps today and sleeping 2+ hrs. Currently he and his sister are taking their afternoon nap together, in the same room. Ahhh, normalcy.

Egg Hunts

Logan participated in two egg hunts this year. The first was while we were in Ohio. She loved it!

She also got to do one here in Raleigh with her friend, Olivia from church.

The weather was so beautiful, it was a perfect day to get some eggs. :)

These girls have had so much fun together lately. It's nice to watch them interact together now that they're starting to share toys and actually play with each other instead of just along side each other.

Easter Sunday

Happy Easter! What a wonderful day to celebrate the resurrection of our Savior. We woke up today and taught Logan to say, "the tomb is empty!" Of course, it sounded more like, "temby emy" but you get the idea. :) I have 5,000 pictures to share, so I'll just caption them and call it a day.

Last year I made Logan a fun Easter bucket instead of a basket and wanted to do the same for Brody this year. Unfortunately, the store where I get my supplies is about 25 minutes away and any time we were out that way I kept the mantra, "I'll get it next time." Well, next time never came, and I found this sweet little bucket at PB Kids for the right price so that's what we did. And here's Logan's bucket:

We decided that we really want to keep things simple at Easter and not go Easter Bunny crazy. We love the idea of getting the kids a nicer pair of spring/summer shoes to throw in their baskets and then a fun toy to share. So, we got them shoes and a bubble machine. Last year Logan got her first pair of Sperry's and this year we got Logan a pair of Toms. You can read more about them HERE (please do). We love that some child in need will get a pair of shoes this year just like Logan did.

And Brody got his first pair of crib shoes. He won't be able to wear them for a while, but we figured they'd get more use than a pair of newborn shoes since he has so many already!

When I picked Logan up from her classroom after church, I asked her what she learned about and she smiled sweetly and said, "Jesus. Yuvs me." Then we headed to the seminary to get some Easter pictures just like last year.

I found the kids' little Easter outfits at two separate consignment sales this year. Together they cost less than $10 and both still had tags on them! They looked sweet and coordinated in their little seersucker today. I have to say, I'm loving having a girl AND a boy to pick for this year...it's the best of both worlds when I go shopping!

We told Logan to smell the flowers and kept telling her to just put her nose into them but she found it much more interesting to pick petals and smell them individually.

Playdate With The Boys

Since Logan's friend Kate moved away, we've been spending a lot of time with little boys her age. She's mastering the art of flirting early on in life...I'm sure it makes her daddy happy (read: nervous)! Thursday we went to the park with three other little families and Logan happened to be the only girl.

It's fun to watch them all play together and even more fun to really notice the differences between boys and girls at this young of an age. The boys were SO fearless and climbed and jumped from things and got dirty. Logan was having none of it. She carefully climbed to the shortest slide and wanted to be brushed off when she got the smallest bit of mulch on her shorts.

So, when you live in seminary housing (or near it), you all get pregnant and have babies at the same time. Seriously. Don't drink our water (or do if you're wanting a sweet new baby). Elise had Nate in December (she's in the middle), Lindsey had Carter in February, I had Brody in March and Lindsay (who was behind the camera) is going to have sweet baby Luke in July! Our boys are having playdates before they're even aware of it.
