1 Month Old!

Brody was one month old yesterday! I waited to post until today because I knew we were having his 1 month well checkup and wanted to include all of that info. So, here's what you're up to little man:

- You weigh 10lbs 1oz and are in the 55% for your weight.

- You are 21 1/2 inches long and are in the 40% for your height.

- You are not wearing any sized disposable diapers because you miraculously can pee out of them, so we bought some small cloth diapers and started you on those a few months early. (thank you, though, because by the end of it, you'll have saved us quite a bit of money in the first few months)

- You're still wearing newborn clothes.

- You have good control of your head and love to lift it up and look around.

- You've started to smile and it's such a sweet little smile!

- You sleep 3 hour stretches most nights, though, you gave me a 4 hour stretch a couple nights ago and I'm hoping that returns.

- You're a great sleeper, though! You eat when you get up at night and go right back down until the next feeding. This is quite a change from your sister who would wake up to eat and then stay up.

- You've adapted really well to our schedule. You get up when your sister does, take a nap about a two hours later, eat lunch with us, take your second nap while she naps, take a short catnap before dinner and you go to bed within 30-45 minutes of her, so you've made my life a little easier!

- I'd love to say you're a super happy baby, but you're pretty fussy during the day unless you're wrapped up tight in the moby. We talked to the Dr. about it and she thinks you've got a touch of reflux so she's put you on some medicine for it and says it should help. (ETA-- you're most fussy when you're trying to spit up/spitting up or when you're flat on your back which is why we brought it up at the Dr.)

- You love your mommy and have a hard time being passed to anyone else. Every once and a while you'll be happy when daddy is holding you, but for the most part you want your mama.

- You HATE the car. We dread having to go places because we know you'll scream the entire time.

- You love your sister. If you're really upset, she can usually cheer you right up.

You are a joy to have, though! We're so blessed to have you as our son and are so excited to watch you grow. It's hard to imagine life without you and you've only been with us for a month. We love you!
