Dancing Fairy

Logan was wired when she woke up from her nap this morning. She begged to be put back in her costume and went crazy outside! I finally coaxed her up the stairs with the promise of a snack when we came inside, but, of course, she ran as soon as we got to the door. I peeked outside and saw her dancing so I grabbed the camera and caught a quick video for everyone! I think we'll put her in dance classes as soon as she's old enough, the girl love, love, loves to dance! Happy Halloween 2010!

I seriously can't believe it's already halloween, tomorrow I'll officially start my Christmas music listening (really I've been listening to it for 2 weeks now, but only while I clean...which is pretty much 90% of the time with a toddler). Anyway, back to halloween!

Friday I woke up in a semi-panic-- probably because I'm pregnant, hormonal and feel the need to do everything perfectly right now-- thinking that I hadn't yet made anything for Logan to wear for halloween...because a costume is never enough, right? So, we went out and got some discount fabric and I made this during her naptime so she'd have something festive to wear to church this morning.

I feel like I may not get a good picture with Logan again until I'm not pregnant anymore. I can't really wrangle her the way I used to be able to.

Last night we went to another church's fall festival so we'd have an excuse to dress Logan up and get her out of the house. Not quite sure we're ready for the trick-or-treating experience this year but next year we'll be out and about!

She was officially a pumpkin fairy, but when she opened the box with the costume in it and saw the wings she declared herself a butterfly. Whatever works, right?

She loved going through the bounce house with her daddy but we only got to go through once as there were a lot of bigger kids waiting to get in.

Mike, on the other hand, has no problem getting Logan to pose with him!

This afternoon Logan found her "bu-fy" costume and asked to put it on and go outside, so I took the opportunity to get a few more pictures.

22 Weeks!

I'm 22 weeks pregnant today! This week went by SO quickly, as I'm sure I'll be saying for the rest of the pregnancy. We've only got about 18 weeks left before we meet this little man. Not too much news this week, not a whole lot of change. We've started picking up things here and there for the nursery, I've got a whole scheme in mind and am hoping it'll come together the way I envision it so that it's a nice mixture for a boy and a girl. Next week I have just a normal appointment with the Dr., the following appointment is my diabetes screening and then after that it'll be every two weeks! Crazy!

Logan likes to grab at my stomach and tell her brud to "get OWWWWWW!" I think she's anxious to have a built in playmate.

Pumpkin Patch 2010

So, this year, getting a good pumpkin picture proved quite a bit more difficult. Last year, we had an immobile, tranquil 9 month old; this year we had a very mobile, very active, very quick 21 month old who would not stay still! So, you all get a bunch of action shots today! Nothing can be posed with an almost 2 year old, I guess. Logan had a great time running in and out of all of the rows of pumpkins--she thought it was a maze built just for her and couldn't stop giggling when she got far enough away from us (as if she thought we'd let her keep going forever).

Toward the end of our run there, Logan was much more interested in peeling off the price stickers from the pumpkins and relocating them to other pumpkins. That's when we knew it was time to head out.

Bathtime Bubbles

Logan loves her baths, I think it's just about her favorite time of day. I can usually get her to stay in there until she gets pruney and then she starts telling me she has "wa-wa boo-boos" (water boo-boos) and asks to get out. The other night we threw some bubbles in there for her just for some added fun. Now she asks for "wa-wa boo-bles" every night. I tried to catch a few of her having fun in the bath but usually she does NOT like her pictures done when she's in the bathtub, she'll put her hands in front of her face and yell "no cheese, no no cheese"...she's quite the modest child. :) Here are a couple I did manage to get, though:

Thief!

Mike and I volunteer in L's Sunday class about once a month and this week was our turn. I don't know about anyone else with kids, but when we volunteer in there our child takes on this persona of wanting to be completely and totally independent (to the point where she'd change her own diaper if we let her) while still assuming complete and total attention from both of her parents. It kind of creates a little monster because while she wants to be left alone by either of us, she also wants our eyes on her, so she gets into all kinds of mischief!

Today, toward the end of the hour, I noticed that Logan had gone from having two name stickers on her back (her own and her dad's, which she promptly grabbed as soon as he arrived in the room), to having close to 10 on her back. When I asked Mike what was going on, he chuckled, because he had been watching the entire thing and not said or done anything, and let me know that she had been carefully peeling every other child's sticker off of their back and then putting them on her own. She had actually gotten quite good at grabbing the back of her collar, pulling it up, craning her head around and sticking the new stickers to her back. Crazy girl!

21 Weeks!

I'm 21 weeks pregnant today! The first 20 weeks we spend anxiously counting up and then the last 20 we spend excitedly counting down--so only about 19 weeks left. So exciting! Nothing new to report this week. Logan is very interested in the "brud" that's in mommy's belly and constantly is kissing on it and very sweet. We also pulled out a blue blanket that I made last year that never got sold and gave it to her to use with her babies (she calls it baby's my-my) and so she's getting the hang of mothering. We're very excited about meeting the little man, but are also enjoying every minute we have as a family of three.

We LOVE fall!

We were stuck inside all day yesterday with some really nasty weather so this morning when we woke up and it was 68 degrees and sunny, I packed up a towel (to wipe down the wet slides) and Logan and I headed to the park. I thought it was a nice backdrop for some pictures for the family to see. Logan was in an extra smiley and playful mood--must have been the 12 1/2 hours of SOLID sleep she got last night. We're going to get used to these nice nights of sleep just in time for the little guy to get here and mess it all back up again! Oh well, it's SO worth it when you see sweet faces like this one every day.
