Mini Photoshoot

It's been a while since I've been able to get some fun shots of Logan outside due to our health situation. I know there are several people just chomping at the bit for some shots of the little one, so here you go!

Notice she was barefoot--it was a very impromptu playtime outside. As soon as we got in she immediately asked for a "bat" so that I could wash her "toes" off.

13 Weeks With Baby 2

I know, I look rough. We woke up at 6:15 this morning and I was up most of the night with baby sickness. Not much to update on, still sick, still don't like food (you wouldn't be able to tell with the nice round bump I'm quickly forming). Next appt. is Thursday.

Blog Dump

Sorry for the week long delay in an update! Logan came down with a nasty summer cold last weekend and is just now coming out of it. In fact, we haven't left the house since Monday so we're experiencing a nice round of cabin fever and may need to jump out of here this afternoon for a while.

Tuesday was probably the worst day of the sickies. Those of you who know me well know that I'm just a bit of a perfectionist and things that aren't matching drive me a little crazy, but since she was feeling so yucky on Tuesday, I threw L in her closet and let her pick out her own outfit for the day. This is what she came up with:

Boots and all. I think if Logan could sleep in the boots, she would.

I've also given up on M&M's as potty rewards because I'm tired of having to stain stick the furniture when she sneakily gets them out of the bathroom (she'll shove them in the side of her cheek so you think she's done and then lo and behold 10 minutes later you've got chocolate covered furniture). So, I purchased a whole bunch of Yummy Earth organic lollipops for those days when she tells me all day long when she's got to potty...it's happened twice now. She refers to them as her "pops" and will seriously sit still for 30 minutes savoring them.

Today we're doing MUCH better! Though, out with the cold, in with teeth...she started to cut her two bottom canines yesterday so we just can't seem to win! She's taking it well, though, as long as I keep her good and distracted. This 65 degree weather in the mornings has been PERFECT for coloring outside and makes for a good distraction.

12 Weeks With #2!

Whoever said you start showing earlier in your second pregnancy was way right. I didn't even START taking pregnancy pictures with Logan until 19 weeks because I had nothing to show. As you can see, this is NOT the case this time around. Luckily, I haven't yet had to move into maternity pants, every article of mine most of mine fit, I'm just wearing shirts that fit a little looser. At least this time people are asking if I'm pregnant and not just looking at me like I've gained a lot of weight. It makes that part a little easier.

As far as first trimesters go, this one was pretty textbook what Logan's was. I got sick around week 6, more sick around week 8 and really sick around week 10 and that still hasn't subsided (and won't until week 16 if I keep up with L's pregnancy). Logan has been a little mimick and likes to "pretend" like she's sick too. This is ok at home, it's a little embarrassing when she starts to make gagging noises in Target.

I'm having the same food aversions that I had with her. No chicken breasts, no white lunch meat (actually most lunch meats make me queasy), most meals (unless I don't make them) are no longer appetizing after I've finished making them. I've gotten in the habit of making our dinners around lunchtime so they make me sick then and by the time dinner rolls back around they sound tolerable again. :) I've also had some sweet friends who have made us some meals and that's made things a lot easier. I'm living off of lime wedges, water, yogurt and any sweet thing I might crave--I do limit those to one a day, though. Don't want to fall off the deep end of pregnancy weight gain.

I'm much more tired this go around and not surprising considering I have a sweet, energetic, 19 month old to chase during the day. If you haven't heard from me in several months it's not because I'm dead or that I dislike you...I honestly am sleeping any second that I'm not running after my toddler or have my head in the toilet. I'm looking forward to the energy that the second trimester brings.

Like I said, this pregnancy is just about the exact same one I had with Logan, so, if it's a boy, I guess I'll just resign myself to the fact that no matter what gender I'm having...it's going to be a rough first trimester + a few weeks. :) It's totally worth it, though.

I know there aren't a whole lot of you who read this to hear about me so, here's what Logan is doing in preparation for the baby:

Using all the baby items while they are still just hers. I have a feeling we'll be dealing with some jealousy issues in about 6 months!

New Scents

I'll be 12 weeks pregnant tomorrow and we made it through about 11 weeks this time before Mike's deodorant, soap and shampoo started to make me sick. In fact, about a week ago I mentioned that I didn't think he'd have to change them this go around...seems as soon as I said it, we were in the toiletries aisle of target picking out new scents. Poor Mike.

This afternoon I went to dump L's diapers in the wash and while I'm usually pretty good about holding my breath until it's all closed up, I caught a good smell of it this time and with this heightened smell sensitivity, things didn't go well. So, we went and picked up some big girl undies and I'm hoping that within a week we'll be totally out of diapers. She's been really good about going in the potty as long as it's not pee (she actually gets really, really upset if she goes in her diaper), but I think because she's got the diapers on I've gotten lazy about taking her other than when she asks. This should whip me into shape and just get it all done with. How nice it'll be to be done with diapers for 6 months before we have to start again!

I thought about taking a picture of her in them, but I think I'll respect her privacy on this one and post the one I took of just her sweet face.

Logan and Her Baby

Logan has some new ideas for what she should use her baby doll stroller for. Her favorite is to sit in it herself and eat her snacks.

While we were in FL, Logan went from having 0 baby dolls to having THREE. Her daddy bought her one at Cracker Barrel, her Tita got her one that talks and her Mimi and Grandaddy got her an American Girl Bitty Baby. She's always asking for her "be-be" and wants to push them around in the stroller, feed them from her sippy cup and throw them. We're working on that. She's recently taken to napping with the be-be's, though, as she wants them to go night-night, too. Here she is sleeping with her bitty baby:

Mimi and Grandaddy

Logan had a great time in Miami with my parents. She has dubbed my mom her Mimi, which I think stems from me pointing to pictures and saying, "this is MY mommy." It's cute, and she's still asking for her now. She can't quite get Grandaddy out yet, but we're working on that one, too.

She was one spoiled little girl while we were down there! She loved every minute of it and is still talking about the things we did down there. Thanks for such a great time!

PB&J

Logan really, really enjoys a good PB&J sandwich. Of course, this girly girl can only stand it while she's eating, as soon as she's done she fusses to be hosed down. A girl after my own heart.

Water Baby

I thought we had taken more pool pictures and then I looked through the camera and realized that this was all we had! We were very busy with all of the swimming, so, it doesn't surprise me that the camera got a little ignored. Logan really loved the full time access to the "wa-wa" and was constantly asking to get in. We eventually decided to split up the shifts and took turns taking her in so that none of us would get tired of the pool. It made for some wonderful sleep on her part, though!

We took what we thought was our little baby floaty down, but realized we had only brought the sunshade...so, Logan would like to say, "Thank you, Aunt Carolyn, for sharing your float with me!"

Logan had no lack of disney swim suits. When we arrived in Miami, Logan was greeted with an entire Disney swim wardrobe from her grandparents and she definitely got good use out of every one of them.

New Park

My parents have a big park across the street from the house. Up until now, it was just a big grassy area with a poor excuse for a playground. I always thought it was due for an update, especially with the amount of kids it had on it daily, but didn't see one come up before we left. Thankfully, since we moved, they DID re-do the playground! It's quite a beautiful little area, now, and has plenty for little ones to do. Unfortunately for us, it rained for a few days before we arrived, and as you can see, the playground was a little flooded. Logan did get to enjoy the slides because they were on turf...maybe next time we head down there L will get to use the rest of the equipment.
